Resumo

O assunto deste trabalho é a participação da criança na liturgia do culto. O primeiro capítulo apresenta a tradição bíblico-teológica, mostrando que a criança estava integrada no culto e participava das celebrações, uma vez que o culto era espaço de integração, aprendizagem e rememoração, onde as crianças conheciam e amavam a Deus. O segundo capítulo destaca as teorias cognitivas de Jean Piaget, que são importantes no auxílio do conhecimento das etapas do desenvolvimento cognitivo da criança. Além disso, apresenta a teoria do desenvolvimento psicossocial da criança de James Fowler e Erik Erikson, que ajudam a entender a relação da criança com o mundo, permitindo a compreensão e aceitação plena da participação das crianças nas celebrações litúrgicas. O terceiro capítulo, ao falar de fé e espiritualidade, da relação entre fé e Deus, destaca que o desenvolvimento da fé é proporcionado pelo ambiente da comunidade de fé em que a criança vive. Por último, o trabalho apresenta apontamentos, que justificam a inclusão da criança na liturgia do culto eucarístico, visando contribuir com o seu crescimento espiritual, interação e permanência na comunidade de fé quando jovem adulto/a.

Abstract

Liturgy with children
The theme of this work is children´s participation in the worship liturgy. The first chapter presents the biblical-theological tradition. Such tradition shows that children were integrated in the worship, and participated in the celebrations, as the worship was a place of integration, learning, and remembrance where they knew and loved God. The second chapter emphasizes Jean Piaget´s cognitive theories, which are important to help us understand the phases of children´s cognitive development. Besides that, it presents James Fowler and Erik Erikson´s theory of the psycosocial development of children, which helps us understand the child-world relationship; it makes it possible to understand and totally accept their participation in the liturgical celebrations. The third chapter, when it deals with faith and spirituality, and with the relationship between faith and God, stresses that the development of faith is provided by the environment of the community of faith where a child belongs. Finally, this work presents some notes, which justify the inclusion of children in the liturgy of the eucharistic worship. It aims at contributing to the children´s spiritual growth, interaction, and permanence in the faith community when he or she is an young adult.
