Resumo

Esta é uma pesquisa sobre o livro de Lamentações no horizonte do método históricocrítico. O primeiro capítulo explora o título do livro e sua posição no Cânon hebraico. No segundo capítulo são apresentadas as principais concepções quanto à autoria deLamentações, relacionando-as ao contexto interpretativo da obra. O terceiro capítulo considera a influência de tendências da pesquisa veterotestamentária na análise e restauração do Texto Massorético de Lamentações, indicando propensões da atualidade. O quarto capítulo discorre sobre o modo de composição do livro. Considera se foi concebido como uma unidade ou se os seus capítulos foram surgindo ao longo de décadas e séculos, se é obra de uma pessoa, de várias ou de grupos, delineando, no caso de supor-se uma composição paulatina, as possíveis seqüências do seu surgimento. Também se considera em que período e lugar se deu a composição do livro como um todo. O quinto capítulo trata de dois recursos poéticos presentes em Lamentações e buscam-se sinais de estruturação poética do livro como um todo. As diversas referências ao alfabeto hebraico em diferentes modalidades e as interpretações derivadas deste recurso são submetidas a análise. Aborda-se também a assim chamada métrica em quiná, as particularidades sintáticas características do enjambement e as implicações deste fenômeno na concepção da poesia hebraica. O sexto capítulo aborda a influência dos lamentos sumérios por cidades e de gêneros relacionados nos lamentos por cidades e em Lamentações. Por fim, o sétimo capítulo apresenta o modo como a questão de gênero do livro de Lamentações é discutida na atualidade.

Abstract

This is a presentation of the research into the book of Lamentations under the perspective of the historical critical method. The first chapter informs about the title of the book and its position within the hebrew Canon. In the second chapter the chief propositions concerning the authorship of Lamentations are presented, relating them to the interpretative context of the book. The third chapter considers the influence of tendencies in Old Testament studies in the analysis and restoration of the Massoretic Text of Lamentations, pointing to the present trends. The fourth chapter states the ways in which the composition of this book is supposed to have taken place. It considers whether it was conceived as a whole or its chapters came out in decades or centuries, whether it was the work of a person, of several persons or of various groups, and appointing, in case a gradual composition is supposed, the possible sequencies of its emergence. It also ponders in which period the composition of the book as a whole took place, and where it came into being. The fifth chapter deals with two poetic devices present in Lamentations and inquires for structuring poetic markers of the book as a whole. The reference to the hebrew alphabet in different modalities is examined as well as the deriving interpretations of this device. The so called qinah-metric and the syntactic particularities of the enjambment are exposed as well as the implications of that phenomenon in the conception of hebrew poetry. The sixth chapter explores the discussion about the characteristics and influence of the Sumerian citylaments and related genres on the city-laments and Lamentations. The seventh chapter presents the way the question of genre is dealt with specially in the present time.
