| Resumo |
O presente trabalho pretende pesquisar o posicionamento da Igreja Metodista do Chile perante a ditadura militar que governou esse país por quase dezessete anos (set. 1973 até mar. 1990). A investigação desenvolver-se-á em forma narrativa e analítica, tendo como pano de fundo o que a Igreja fez e disse no decorrer desse tempo. A opção por este tema foi feita visando uma contribuição à própria Igreja Metodista do Chile, bem como para a teologia latino-americana em sua totalidade. |
| Abstract | The thesis attempts to examine the stance of the Methodist Church of Chile towards the military dictatorship that governed this country for almost seventeen years (Sept. 1973 till Mar. 1990). This investigation is developed along a narrative and analytical line that uses as its background the actions and the statements of the Church in this period. The theme of this study was chosen with a view towards making a contribution to the Methodist Church of Chile itself, as well as to Latin American theology as a whole. |
