Resumo

Este trabalho quer investigar a apresentação biblica da conquista da terra de Canaã. As tensões nas tradições bíblicas são apresentadas junto com os diferentes modelos de interpretação, conquista militar, sedentarização pacífica e revolução social, que resultam dessas contradições nos textos bíblicos. Este trabalho está baseado na seguinte questão: Como é possível que, usando os mesmos textos bíblicos e o mesmo método exegético, o método histórico – crítico, os resultados sobre a conquista da terra prometida pelo povo de Israel são tão diferentes e, muitas vezes até contraditórios? O autor procura mostrar que os diferentes modelos de interpretação são reflexo de três fatores principais: 1) Os textos bíblicos não estão livres de contradições, o que abre a possibilidade para vários modelos de explicação. 2) O método histórico – crítico com sua metodologia é co-responsável para a variedade das hipóteses. 3) A personalidade do pesquisador interage de uma maneira consciente ou inconsciente por vários caminhos no processo de formulação de hipóteses. Este trabalho quer colaborar para um melhor entendimento das muitas e variadas opiniões e hipóteses no campo da pesquisa do AntigoTestamento e incentivar a busca de caminhos novos na interpretação da história e das histórias do “Antigo Israel”.

Abstract

This research tries to illuminate the biblical representation of the occupation of Israel. Tensions between the biblical traditions and resulting models of interpretation are apresented in their classical forms: military conquest, peaceful settlement and social revolution. This study is based on the following question: How is it possible that, even using the same biblical texts and the same exegetical method, the historical-critical method, authors achieve such diferent and often inconsistent hypotheses about the process of occupation of Israel? The author has the intention to demonstrate that these different models of enterpretation can be attributed basically to three factors: 1) The biblical texts aren’t free of inconsistency leading to different models of interpretation. 2) The historical-critical method with it’s proceedings is to be held corresponsible for the variety of resulting hypotheses. 3) In a conscious or unconscious way the personality of the scientist easily has influence on in the process of theorizing. Contributing to the understanding of the often confusing variety of opinions and theories in the field of Old Testament research, this research intends to stimulate new ways of interpretation of the israelite history and the histories of ancient Israel.
