Examina o conceito diaconia e a história do diaconato feminino e masculino.

Abstract

The subject of this dissertation is the unity of diaconia and Christian worship and its consequences for the life of Christian communities. The dissertation is divided into two parts, the first one is bibliographical and the second one is the report and the interpretation of a social survey. The first chapter tells about the practice of  diaconia in Christian congregations in the first centuries. It presents the concept of diaconia and the history of the female and male diaconates. The second chapter treats of Christian worship in its origins, presenting the different kinds of worships (Eucharistical, baptismal, daily public prayers, the Eucharist for those who are absent, the viaticum, the anointing of the sick and the funerals). The third chapter is dedicated to the study of the unity of worship and diaconia and the demonstration of this unity in the different kinds of worships in the congregations of the first centuries. The fourth chapter describes principles, which are consequences of the preceding studies for the diaconal action of the Christian congregations of the present time. The fifth chapter is the beginning for the second part of the dissertation. It describes the method, which was used in the social survey and the way in which the author’s insertion was given . It presents the detailed report of the congregation where the qualitative social survey was done. The principal question of this social survey is: does a Christian congregation, when regularly reminded of their diaconal commitment in the worship, present a process with more intensification in the actions of solidarity? The sixth chapter brings the data, which were mentioned in the social survey. The seventh chapter develops the interpretation of the data under a diaconal perspective. The general conclusion presents an evaluation of the whole extension of the survev and points out the consequences for the life in community, for the church and for the development of female and male workers and community leadership in the present time.
