Resumo

Esta dissertação reflete a preocupação com o uso e a interpretação de edições da Bíblia traduzidas para Língua Portuguesa, e com a intenção de pessoas ligadas ao ambiente teológico, no momento de uma leitura popular da bíblia no contexto brasileiro. A compreensão do um texto e sua subseqüente interpretação constituem desafios que precisam ser vistos com cuidado, em face a tantos problemas que cercam a vida de fé das pessoas na atualidade. Há uma verdadeira " avalanche " de edições comentadas, oriundas das mais diversas denominações comentadas e todas elas se propõem a apresentar a salvação definitiva da palavra de Deus, interpretada segundo seus próprios conceitos. No entanto, sem conhecimento das línguas bíblicas para fundamentar uma boa tradução, e sob influência de múltiplas ideologias, a população brasileira, fica longe do alcance deste trabalho com a bíblia, o qual, muitas vezes, serve apenas como meio de manipulação sobre este povo, em que sua maioria absoluta, não tem acesso ao conhecimento científico na área teológica e se vê, portanto, sem condições de avaliar o que está sendo feito com sua fé. Este trabalho pretende analisar um dos livros mais polêmicos do Antigo Testamento, o Eclesiastes, o qual, por suas características bem peculiares, oferece farto material de pesquisa quanto à problemática citada acima, através de uma proposta interdisciplinar que procura fazer o método histórico-crítico interagir com análise semiótica e vice-versa. Esta proposta se dirige primeiramente aos "trabalhadores da seara", como material de pesquisa e sugestão de trabalho com grupos e comunidades.

Abstract

This thesis reflects a concern about the use and interpretation of the portuguese editions, of the Bible, and about the intentions or people in theological 'contexts', when the matter is popular "readings" of the Bible in the Brazilian context. The comprehension of a text and its subsequent interpretation are challenges which need a careful analysis, in light of the many problems people have concerning their faith in modem times. There is an "avalanche" of new annotated translations.  From the most varied religious denominations, all or them with the same purpose: the definitive redemption through God's word, interpreted in accordance with their own hermeneutical keys. Without the knowledge of the biblical languages, however, and under the influence or many ideologies,, the Brazilian population remains far from the success of the work with the Bible, which is often only a form of manipulation over this people which, in large part, has no way to obtain technical theological information and which, in consequence, cannot evaluate what certain religious circles do with their faith. This thesis pretends to analyze one of the most polemic books of the Old Testament, the Ecclesiastes, which, by its very peculiar characteristics, offers much data concerning all problems listed above, through an interdisciplinary approach that attempts an approximation between the historical-critical method and the semiotic analysis. This  proposal is addressed first to the "workers of the harvest", as material for research and secondly as a suggestion for the work with groups and communities.
