Resumo:
O artigo busca apresentar um panorama da trajetória do luteranismo da
Igreja Evangélica de Confissão Luterana no Brasil (IECLB).
Introdutoriamente analisa a inserção do protestantismo no Brasil e a
trajetória do luteranismo à luz dos diferentes momentos históricos que
implicaram a autorreflexão sobre sua identidade confessional,
teológica, missionária.

Abstract:
The article seeks to present a panorama on the trajectory of the
Lutheranism of the Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB).
Introductorily it analyzes the insertion of Protestantism in Brazil and
the trajectory of Lutheranism in the light of the different historical
moments that involved the self-reflection about its confessional,
theological, missionary identity.

Resumo: A Igreja Evangélica Luterana do Brasil (IELB) originou-se do trabalho promovido pelo Sínodo de Missouri, EUA, desde o princípio do século XX, entre imigrantes germânicos e seus descendentes, principalmente no sul e sudeste do país. Aspectos étnicos, sociais e culturais relativos à presença desse grupo religioso minoritário foram historicamente marcantes para a elaboração dinâmica de uma identidade, que se refletiu em sua estruturação institucional, nas práticas missionária, de serviço diaconal e pedagógica, bem como em sua presença em espaços públicos.

Abstract:
The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil (IELB) began through the
missionary and diaspora work of the Lutheran Missouri Synod, USA, among
German immigrants and their descendants from the beginning of the 20th
century mostly in the south and the southeast of the country. Ethnical,
social and cultural aspects related to the presence of this religious
minority were historically remarkable to the dynamical development of
an identity which reflected itself over institutional structures and
practices in mission, social ministry, education and public relations.

Resumo:
Neste estudo olhamos para a questão de gênero, em especial ao espaço
que as mulheres tiveram dentro da Igreja Evangélica de Confissão
Luterana no Brasil – IECLB. Especial atenção é dada às formas como as
mulheres contribuíram na construção da igreja, às redes de apoio que
formaram em diversas épocas da história e ao empoderamento em relação
às questões de gênero. Observam-se o espaço da mulher no estudo da
teologia e seu desempenho nas comunidades como obreira bem como leiga e
sua contribuição na reflexão teológica que influenciou a
espiritualidade e a teologia e trouxe mudanças significativas para
políticas de gênero dentro do âmbito eclesiástico, bem como da
sociedade maior. De forma breve, abordamos a questão da
homossexualidade, um assunto controverso, e as perspectivas e
entendimentos em relação ao assunto. O texto aponta para os desafios
que são trazidos pela sociedade atual que exigem que também os homens
sejam envolvidos na discussão de gênero.

Abstract: In this study we try to look at the issue of gender, especially at the space
that
women had in the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession – IECLB.
Special attention is given to the ways in which women contributed in
building the Church, to the different networks they had throughout the
Church’s history and the empowerment that happened in relation to
gender issues. Attention is given to the space that women had in
theological studies and their work as clergy and lay in the parishes
and the important contribution in the theological reflection that has
influenced spirituality and theology and brought changes in gender
policies in the Church, as well as in larger society. Briefly, the
issue of homosexuality, a controversial subject, is raised and
commented about the perspectives and the understandings in relation to
it. The text points to new challenges brought by contemporary society
which demand that men also be involved in the issue of gender.

Resumo:
Em tempos de grande transformação no cenário religioso, a IECLB tem
procurado manter-se fiel e clara acerca daquilo que a define, sem que,
com isso, deixe de perceber os sinais do seu contexto. De forma
sucinta, o presente artigo apresenta o escopo ético a partir do qual
essa igreja estabelece e alinha sua posição no cenário conceitual
dentro e fora da comunidade cristã. O segundo ponto é sobre o aspecto
da missão, no qual a igreja assume seu espírito profético de forma
pró-ativa. A terceira parte traz a sustentabilidade como preocupação
com a manutenção da estrutura da igreja e com os meios para viabilizar
um crescimento visível dessa. O compromisso ecumênico e a diaconia
aparecem como outros dois círculos onde a identidade da IECLB se renova
atualmente.

Abstract:
In a time of great transformation in the religious scenario, the IECLB
has been trying to be faithful about its self-understanding, but
without ignoring the signs of its context. Briefly, the present article
presents the ethical scope in which the IECLB lines up its position in
the conceptual scenario inside and outside the Christian community. The
second point is about mission aspects, in which the church takes its
prophetic role in a proactive way. The third part brings the issue of
sustainability as a concern related to the maintenance of the structure
of the church and the means to make possible its growth. The ecumenical
commitment and the diakonia appear as two further circles in which the
identity of the IECLB is renewed today.

O período da Segunda Guerra Mundial influiu decisivamente sobre a
atuação pastoral das comunidades da futura Igreja Evangélica de
Confissão Luterana no Brasil. Medidas governamentais impediram a
manutenção da concepção etnocêntrica de edificação de comunidade
vigente cujo objetivo maior era a propagação da cultura germânica. A
necessária reorientação da teologia e da práxis eclesiástica foi
liderada pelo pastor Ernesto Theóphilo Schlieper. Aluno de Karl Barth,
Schlieper postulava uma teologia cristocêntrica cuja característica
maior era a confiança inabalável no poder da Palavra de Deus. A partir
de sua Palavra, Deus deseja edificar sua igreja. Assim, sua concepção
de edificação de comunidade acentua a prioridade da pregação do
Evangelho e a comunicação do amor e da graça de Deus. Defende,
igualmente, a ampliação do engajamento leigo na igreja, bem como o
resgate dos membros distanciados da vida comunitária através da
evangelização permanente.

Abstract:
The period of the Second World War decisively influenced the pastoral
work of the congregations of the future Evangelical Church of Lutheran
Confession in Brazil. Government measures impeded the continuation of
the ethnocentric concept of congregational edification in practice at
the time whose greater goal was the propagation of the Germanic
culture. The necessary reorientation of theology and ecclesiastical
practice was led by Pastor Ernesto Theóphilo Schlieper. A student of
Karl Barth, Schlieper postulated a Christ centered theology whose
larger characteristic was the unshakeable trust in the power of the
Word of God. Based on his Word, God wishes to edify his church. Thus
his conception of congregational edification accentuates the priority
of the preaching of the Gospel and the communication of the love and
grace of God. It also equally defends the broadening of lay involvement
in the church as well as the recovery of members distanced from
community life through permanent evangelization.

O artigo busca delinear uma possível interpretação para as múltiplas e
esparsas afirmações de Heidegger ao longo de sua extensa obra sobre a
questão de Deus. Ele propõe que os enunciados heideggerianos sobre
Deus, a divindade, os deuses, o sagrado... podem ser compreendidos como
integrantes de uma hermenêutica do divino em sua retração, que serve de
alternativa à criticada “ontoteologia metafísica”.

Abstract: The article seeks to delineate a possible interpretation for the multiple and sparse affirmations of Heidegger throughout his extensive work on the issue of God. It proposes that the Heidegger enunciations about God, the divinity, the gods, the sacred... can be understood as integrating a hermeneutic of the divine in his retraction, which serves as an alternative to the criticized “metaphysical ontotheology”.

Jürgen Moltmann reflete sobre a criação buscando uma nova leitura
teológica, confrontando-a com as descobertas da ciência moderna e da
teoria evolucionista. Para dialogar com as ciências, que descobrem um
mundo que evolui ao longo da história, o teólogo reavalia a teoria da
criação tradicional, na qual o mundo era concebido como fixo, completo
e perfeito desde sua origem, para concebê-lo como criação perfectível,
sistema aberto e direcionado para uma recriação no fim dos tempos. A
criação continua ao longo da história. Dessa forma, ciência e religião,
criação e evolução podem dialogar. Moltmann também reflete sobre outra
perspectiva da atuação científica no mundo: a crise ecológica faz
pensar sobre a dominação tecnocientífica da modernidade que
instrumentalizou a criação. A partir da esperança na recriação de Deus,
o ser humano tem a responsabilidade de zelar e cuidar da natureza com
uma nova postura frente ao mundo.

Abstract:
Jürgen Moltmann reflects on the creation by seeking a new theological
reading to confront the findings of modern science and the evolutionary
theory. In order to hold a dialogue with science, which discovers a
continually-evolving world throughout history, the theologian
re-assesses the traditional theory of creation where the world was seen
as fixed, complete and perfect from its origin, to conceive it as a
perfectible creation, an open system directed to re-creation at the end
of times. Creation continues all through history. This way, science,
religion, creation and evolution can achieve a dialogue. Moltmann also
reflects on another perspective of the scientific action in the
world. The ecological crisis makes us think about the technoscientific
domination of modernity which has used the resources made
available by creation. With hope in God‘s re-creation, the human being
has the responsibility of looking after and taking care of nature with
a new attitude in front of the world.

Resumo:
A sociedade do conhecimento é a sociedade da diversidade e da
complexidade: multiplicidade de atores e de tecnologias de informação.
Nesse contexto, falar de espiritualidade é reconhecer a necessidade de
diálogo com e entre diferentes saberes, sendo o diálogo entre teologia
e ciências da natureza um dos mais necessários e urgentes. A falta
de diálogo pode esconder uma perspectiva reducionista e etnocêntrica.
Após a análise da relação religião e ciência, este trabalho sugere
alguns pontos para se pensar a espiritualidade na sociedade da
informação, estabelecendo um diálogo entre as características desta
sociedade com a espiritualidade, mais especificamente, uma
espiritualidade cristã.

Abstract:
The Knowledge Society is a society of diversity and complexity:
multiplicity of actors and information’s technology. In this context,
to talk about spirituality is to recognize the need of dialogue among
different knowledge, being the dialogue of theology and natural science
one of the most needed. The lack of dialogue can hide a reductionist
and ethnocentric perspective. After the analysis of the religion and
science relation, this paper suggest some points to think spirituality
in an information society, establishing a dialogue of some
characteristics of this society with spirituality, and more
specifically with a christian spirituality.

Este trabalho começa com a suposição de que a dignidade humana deve ser
entendida como um termo que as pessoas atribuem uma para a outra. Tal
conceito não corresponde somente à nossa vivência diária: Dignidade não
é algo que temos, mas algo que devemos um/a ao/à outro/a. Este conceito
também está em acordo com a discussão contemporânea sobre a filosofia
dos direitos na Alemanha. E, além disso, ele está em concordância
bastante próxima aos elementos centrais dos ensinamentos da Reforma. A
antropologia da Reforma fundamenta-se em um conceito relacional, como
também a doutrina da graça de Deus e a justificação do pecador. No
segundo momento, o trabalho analisa essa interpretação de dignidade
humana em relação às consequências para as perguntas éticas no começo e
no final da vida humana. O resultado, como conclusão no terceiro passo,
é duplo: Dignidade humana está em acordo com uma forte proteção à vida
humana, mas também, em certos casos, é compatível com a aprovação do
aborto, da pesquisa de células-tronco e eutanásia. Disso resulta uma
vantagem adicional: o conceito esboçado de dignidade humana não é
somente uma categoria normativa, mas pode oferecer ajuda na areia
movediça das decisões concretas.

Abstract:
This paper starts with the assumption, that human dignity is to be
understood as a term people ascribe one to another. Such a concept
corresponds not only with our every day experience: Dignity is nothing
we have but something we owe each to another. This concept is also in
accordance to the contemporary discussion on the philosophy of rights
in Germany. And, in addition, it stands in close accordance with core
elements of the reformatorian teachings: The reformatorian anthropology
is based on a relational concept, and also are the doctrine of God’s
grace and the justification of the sinner. As a second step, the paper
analyzes this interpretation of human dignity with regard to the
consequences for the ethical questions at the beginning and at the end
of human life. The result, so the conclusion in the third step, is
twofold: Human dignity is accordable with a strong protection of human
life, but also, in certain cases compatible with the approval to
abortion, to stem-cell research, and euthanasia. Thereby an additional
advantage turns out: The sketched concept of human dignity is not just
a normative category but can provide assistance in the quicksand of
concrete decisions.

A diversidade dentro da disciplina da Teologia Prática é tão grande que
ela pode acomodar muitos contextos e desafios diferentes. Porém, o
risco é que ela perca a sua coerência. Valendo-se de um leque de
introduções recentes à Teologia Prática e de discussões continuadas na
Academia Internacional de Teologia Prática, este artigo tenta descrever
tanto o território comum como os principais pontos decisivos (ou as
encruzilhadas no caminho) sobre os quais teólogos/as prático/as
divergem. O território comum é descrito como “a hermenêutica da
religião vivenciada”, que marca a distinção entre as ciências sociais
da religião, por um lado, e outras disciplinas teológicas, por outro
lado. As encruzilhadas no caminho consideram a definição da abrangência
do objeto, como práxis e teoria teológica estão relacionadas, como
o/a pesquisador/a se posiciona vis à vis o objeto e como se
entende o público primário. Essa estrutura ajuda a esclarecer as
complexidades do campo e a se posicionar naquele campo.

Abstract:
The diversity within the discipline of Practical Theology is so large
that it can accommodate many different contexts and challenges. The
risk is, however, that it loses its coherence. Drawing on a range of
recent introductions to Practical Theology and on ongoing discussions
in the International Academy of Practical Theology, this paper tries to
describe both the common ground and the major decision points (or forks
in the road) where practical theologians diverge. The common ground is
described as “hermeneutics of lived religion”, which marks the
distinction from social sciences of religion on the one hand and other
theological disciplines on the other. The forks in the road regard how
broad the object is defined, how praxis and theological theory are
related, how the researcher is positioned vis as vis the object, and
how the primary audience is understood. This framework helps to clarify
the complexities of the field and to position oneself in that field.

Resumo: O artigo enfoca o tema “comer e beber” no livro de Amós. Considera que o livro de Amós é o resultado de um longo processo de composição. Seus inícios estão marcados com a atuação de uma figura histórica chamada Amós e sua redação final se deu no período do chamado pós-exílio. O artigo trabalha com a hipótese de que a visão da opulência do comer e beber dos pândegos da elite na capital em contraste com a vida cotidiana do povo camponês foi para o profeta Amós a experiência fundante, a que deu início às suas críticas sociais, posteriormente enriquecidas com reflexões de ordem teológica.

Abstract:
The article focuses on the theme “eating and drinking” in the book of
Amos. It considers that the book of Amos is the result of a long
process of composition. Its beginnings are marked by the action of an
historical figure called Amos and its final redaction took place in the
period of the so-called post-exile. The article works with the
hypothesis that the vision of the opulence of the eating and drinking
of the revelers of the elite in the capital in contrast to the daily
life of the peasant people is the founding experience for Amos which
gave birth to his social criticisms, later enriched with reflections of
theological order.
